We have recently acquired a new kite and of course, we needed a good place to fly it. Remembering I’d seen kite flying on the National Trust website, I found what sounded a the perfect place nearby. The bonus of the National Trust being tea rooms and fresh scones.
The place we headed to was Dyrham Park, knowing very little about it, except two things; there were deer and a hill suitable for kite flying.
As it turned out, Dyrham Park has a wonderful house, idyllic gardens and is a glorious place to wander and explore. It easily swallowed a day and I can confirm the tea room serves a very good scone. I’d eaten it before I thought to take a photo so you will have to imagine. The kite flying was perfect; big spaces, big skies.
Dyrham Park our new favourite place.
